Deets : Layer the glitter nail polish over a solid creamy nail polish and watch the glitter slide away easily with a regular nail polish remover !
Story : I've had these gorgeous nail polishes in my collection for a while but refrained from using them much. They were such a pain to remove and I have very very sensitive cuticles so its not like I can rub the cotton ball back and forth to get rid of the glitter. I didn't want to deal with the pain so I ignored them. Until, one day I was testing them over a solid creamy nail polish that I had on and what do you know, they came off with ease ! No messy glitter around my cuticles, no tugging & no micro scratches on my nails !
Since then I've used nothing but glittery sparkly nail polishes, making up for all my lost time with them. Right now I have on Zoya Julienne ( a deep sparkly purple) over Kelly (creamy steel gray)
Index - Zoya Cheryl over Cola
Middle - Zoya Edyta over Shawn
Ring & Pinky - Zoya Julienne over Kelly
Try this trick and lemme know how it works for ya !

Truthfully I do realize that JLH doesnt really care if we like it or not. No one should. The lady loves it and is flaunting it with many other things( like her gorgeous shoes is all I meant)
But for me, the nails don't work. I am all for bright summer nails but they must exist all along the length of the nail. We are talking full on yellow ! The yellow tips on the lines of white french manicure is not my style.
What about you ? You liking them ? Do you approve of yellow tips ?

Good evening Ladies !
Just finished swatching loads of nail polishes ! My nails hurt but my heart feels warm and fuzzy looking at all these beautiful colors !
This here is the new Wicked & Wonderful collection for Fall by Zoya ! Its a fulfilling mix of solids and sparkles. Of course the sparkles are Wicked and the creamy solids are the Wonderful ones.
The six Wonderful shades include
Kelly - Gray ( concrete gray)
Stacy - Mahogany Red ( wine red )
Burke - Sienna Red ( pink red )
Kristi - Crimson Red ( summery red )
Cola - Desert Sand Red ( henna-ish brown)
Shawn - Myrtle Green ( Sap green)
Right off the bat I feel in love with Shawn. Nothing to do with the name - there actually was a really cute guy in my class by that name. Very funny, very sweet guy but married. Anyhoo, this Shawn spoke to my green grass loving side.
But later while swatching I had a huge girl crush on Kristi - shez a perfect summer red. One of my all time favorite red shades is America by Zoya . But Kristi gives her a stiff competition.
Cola and Stacy fall right into the category of my favorite Fall shades. I'm sure I'll be wearing them a lot ! Soon hopefully.
Burke was the only shade that I didn't care for much. But I'm sure she'll find a home in someone else's heart ! Shez real sweet.
Zoya nail polishes are available on their website here.

Swatches from Zoya Wicked and Wonderful Collection !
From index to little - Stacy, Julieanne, Edyta and Shawn. Shawn and Edyta ae my absolute favorites so far ! Will have more swatches up soon with a review.
My new lipstick obsession. Its a gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous paprika color. I took this pic after a few hours of wear so its toned down and looks very friendly. But if applied well its a fiery warm orange with a delicate bronzy finish. Imagine that ! Perfect for a Vogue Summer photo shoot ! She's called Majorca. I told you about her hot fuchsia friend here
More randomly I've been listening to Dontcha. Its one of my secret favorite songs to dance to at home. What is your secret favorite song ?

Jessica Alba looked so edgy & chic at the Paris Premiere of her movie Killer Inside Me. The hair was a bit too high for me but really I am no Hollywood star. I could leave my house with the oiliest, flattest hair tied together with a blue scrunchie and nobody would mind.
I say that from experience.
Back to hotter topics - Alba.
Check out the makeup, y'all ! Love the bronzy sultry look. If you love it too I have THE perfect candidate to recommend to help you master the look - The LORAC Little Black Palette. It was made to go with the LBD !
The palette comes with four metallic baked eye shadows and a mini Behind The Scenes eyeshadow primer. The four shades include a champagne, a nude bronze, deep bronze and a deep brown. It retails for $32 (a $72 value!) at Sephora, ULTA, LORACcosmetics.com, Sephora.com and ULTA.com. LORAC also is having a 40 - 80% off sale on Hautelook so check them out. Sale ends - 7/ 10/2010.

Yeah..how DO you ?
I'm telling you man...things go down hill from 25. Or at least I am feeling that way. Is it genetics ? I know my family is not the best at looking 30 when you are 50 but does it all really start so soon ? At 26 ?
Till 25, I never had any issues. And now suddenly my dentist wants me to come in often, my skin is a recurring dry nightmare and as of yesterday its my nails . They seem so weak and the nail on my toe has some weak furrows on it.
What's next bones ?
I'm not ready for this. Not already !
(Nahi - Hindi for No)
Could you guys please help me with some tips on strengthening nails. Give it to me. I'll try anything.
Help me.
Help me, please.
For now I have been using the Sally Hansen Continuous Treatment (Strength). Its only been a day. Too soon for iron clad nails. But I'd like to think it'll help.

Rimmel is soon catching up & becoming one of my very favorite drugstore brands ! I loved their lipsticks (airy fairy) , the long stay lip glosses come in some of the most wearable colors ( enduring love, lustrous nude, dream on), the eyeliners are metallic with a hint of sooty black - brilliant stuff ! I hit another jack pot when I tried out their 60 second nail polishes.
My manicure nights are often accompanied with MTV - The City. I love catching up on Whitney & her life while I paint my nails. And no matter how interesting her life gets I cannot stay put to let my polish dry. This formula works perfect for dry-time impatient people like me. It truly truly dries off in 60 seconds. The polish applies evenly, no streaks, has good amount of color, come in 16 shades and is super cheap at $3.30.
Its not just me who thinks it dries at supersonic speed - Good Housekeeping Research Institute tested Rimmel London's 60 Seconds Nail Polish in their January issue against a variety of polishes and they found the Rimmel polish to rank number one in drying time!
The only thing missing from the formula is shine. I have a theory that the shine adding ingredients tend to increase the dry time. Take the matte nail polishes - they dry off in a jiffy. Its the same here but the formula is not completely matte. As for the missing shine, add a coat of nail strengthening , polish enhancing top coat and you've got the glam shine ! Or if you're unlike me and are super trendy, get the mattefying coat and add a some of it for a crisp matte look. I think Essie makes a good one.
Some shades I loved from this range are Night Before - gorgeous purple with deep pink reflect ( Imagine that ! Its a lot like the frame around the shade except less gem like) and Rapid Ruby - a deep red with a hint of brown (so easy - it works on everybody !)
Have you tried the 60 Second Nail Polish ? Is there a shade you love & recommend ?

Happy Sundeee !
I'm off to the library to get a few books. Skin is being a good boy so all I have on is some Smashbox Halo Powder - AWESOME !!!!! ( to be read in a pitch 5 times higher your normal voice).
Last night while catching up on Jersey Shore, I painted my nails with Zoya - Happi. Back to the shore - I am seriously tired of Sam & Ronni's drama. Snooki & Vinnie is still my favorites ! And if I hear the word - situation one more time, I will pull my hair out :X
Whoz your Jersey Shore favorite ?

Easy Wearable Metallics is what the Zoya Spring 2010 Reverie Collection is all about.
Laney (ZP607) - moonlit silver metallic
Adina (ZP608) - duo chrome violet metallic with green reflects
Reece (ZP609) - gilded rose metallic / deep pink with gold reflects
Happi (ZP610) - pink blush metallic with gold reflects
Gwin (ZP611) - sunny melon / bright coral metallic
Lana (ZP612) - reddish orange metallic
I'm trying to decide which one I should wear on my fingers and which one on my toes. Help me out, will ya ?

As always the formulas are excellent ! I also thought these dried a lot faster than my other Zoya polishes. Look at Adina - so pretty. Green reflects are so not my thing but paired with that shade of violet they look at-home on my fingers.
Reece reminds me of Drew from Truth Collection.
As for Laney - I have big thing for silver nail polishes.
Big big thing.
As big as my thing for Jon Hamm is...

At the end of swatching my fingers turned a pale white. All the blood had drained out of my fingers from the cold . To get some some light in I had to keep my door open and that meant letting in the 20 degree weather. At least for the sake of swatching I cant wait for Spring to get here ...
Which one was your favorite shade ? ( poll available only on the site. Email subscribers will have to get on the blog to see the poll)

I love Fall/Winters but if there is one reason I'm asking the weatherman to hurry up and end it - its all this metallic goodness ! The six dreamy new metallic spring 2010 shades from Zoya Nail Polish are :
Laney (ZP607) - moonlit silver metallic
Adina (ZP608) - duochrome violet metallic
Reece (ZP609) - gilded rose metallic
Happi (ZP610) - pink blush metallic
Gwin (ZP611) - sunny melon metallic
Lana (ZP612) - rich red metallic
I'm dying to see Gwin - a metallic sunny melon !!!

Hiya Ladies !
Hows the weekend been so far ? Do anything fun ?
I completed the whole season of Southern Belle Louisville !
What a nice show ! I love all the women on it. So sweet, so grounded and so real. None of that unnecessary, terribly scripted, juvenile drama that most other reality shows have. I really really really hope there is a season 2.
Throughout the show , Hadley this sweet girl had on the most gorgeous red nail polish on her fingers. You can see a bit of it in the pic below - *love* it !
After that, I just had to whip out the reds . I painted my fingers and toes with Zoya America - a gorgeous red ! I also did the whole base coat , top coat thingy ! I tell you it is a great decision to invest in a base coat, top coat. The manicure lasts a long long while and looks super shiny, glossy & fabulous ! That sparkle you see on my little finger - its au naturale ! I used the Zoya Anchor Base Coat & Armor Top Coat . But everybody else makes them too !

Have you seen the show Southern Belle - Louisville ? Who is your favorite character ?

This cute little thing is Sweet Pea by Hard Candy ($5, Walmart).
I layered it thrice over the Sally Hansen Nail Polish in Opulent Cloud for the most gorgeous rush of sparkles. I am not a fan of glittery nail polish but the intense golden green color has me looking at my fingers every two minutes. I painted alternate fingers with Sweet Pea.
Why three layers ? Coz I was on the phone with my mom who was updating me on everything and anything and anyone. I needed something to do while listening to all momma's stories and so I painted and painted and painted ;)
Next time I'll layer it over yellow or another green. What would you layer it over ?

Is there a better way to spend your Friday Night ? Nope, not around these parts of the town. Womenfolk in these parts bring out their nail polishes and go crazy with it !
I have on my nails Sally Hansen HD Nail Color - Opulent Cloud. I've been wearing solid wines, burgundy shades for a while now so this gorgeous shimmer was a welcome break ! There is no easy way to describe the shade but I'd call it a purple gray with gold/silver shimmer shine. It also has a delicate duo chrome effect to it. Very unusual color but in a nice way.
What shade are you flaunting on your hands ?

If not you must !
At the recently concluded NYFW SS2010 there was a whole lot of layering happening backstage at the Tracy Reese Show. The runway look for the show was created with Sally Hansen Complete Manicure in Midnight In New York which provided a deep ebony base, while Hidden Treasure brushed on an unexpected molten metallic finish.
This collection will be available nationwide in April 2010. But since we cannot wait until then to try out the trend, I wanna hear from y'all !
Do you layer your nail polishes. Do you have a favorite combo ?
As for me, I have just recently discovered the beauty of a base coat and a top coat. Details coming soon but for now I cant wait to hear all about your layering stories !

Teal was there. Definitely there. All over the runways at NYFW SS2010. Check out these gorgeous clothes with a hint or more than a hint of teal. I would kill to be able to afford / wear any one of these !
But no worries I got my teal fix with the Muse.
Muse is a fantastic blue-green teal. Nothing like anything I have.
A.K.A I don't have any teal shades.
While I flaunted my teal nails all over the roadways (okay, okay I'll stop), a certain somebody burst my bubble telling me it looked a bit High School-ish.
I do not concur.
I think its very fashionable. Just go back and check out all the gorgeous blue greens / teals on the runway.
Color apart, its a creamy , high shine , super-easy-to apply lacquer. It also wears really really well. I like it a lot more on my feet than on my fingers ! But tell me, don't you agree that its a very cute color - high fashion or not.

In Other News...Busted Any Windows, Lately ?
In other news, are you watching Glee ? You should ! Its really nice and a welcome break from the regular drama on TV. Plus the songs on it are too cute ! I cant stop crooning to Mercedes's - Bust Your Windows. I have never busted any body's windows with a stone but I can tell ya the song does me feel good !
Come to think of it at 17 or 18, I would have given anything for a stone and lots of courage to bust the window of that one car. But that was then. Aah, the tales of The Young and The Stupid.
You busted any windows lately ? You know you can confide in your girl friend here...
I bust the windows out your car. Now watch me YOU !

This, my dears is Essie Fall 2009. GORGEOUS !!! It teases you with bright shades, reminding you of the summer that has just passed and slowly but surely allures you into the deeper darker winter. All six are calling out my name in six directions. And I'm going to respond to them all !! Whoz calling out your name ?

You know what this shade is called ?
Slumdog Millionaire !
So, of course I had to try it right ! I just had to !
This is my first Duri nail polish and I'm loving the formula ! Its a little on the thinner side compared to most other nail enamels but its not at all streaky or any less pigmented. I love the thin formula because it dries so much faster and when I apply a second coat it lays flat and shiny against my nail. It does not bulge out and look like an additional layer.
The shade was not something I fell in love instantly. With one coat, it did not blow me away but a second coat brought on the magic in this magenta. If you're over reds and wines , go for magenta. Its the new 'it' fall shade.
I say so.
This is just one of the 12 Fall shades from Duri's Rags to Riches collection. If you tried any other shade, lemme know how it worked out for you !
