Get this now.

Order this ASAP.

Hands down one of the best lipsticks around and they only cost $8 !!

No taste, no smell, full creamy color, excellent smooth texture and the lipstick case clicks perfectly into place. I'm addicted to that click - it gives me rush. Thank God this habit is going to cost me only $8.

I tried three shades from the mark Lipclick line. Today I shall dedicate the post to Coral Fixation. Its a coral with a lot of pink to it. Sometimes real coral does come in pinkish variants. Besides the beauty industry on many occasions has called flat out orange as coral.

But this shade is utter gorgeousness. I'm gonna get a couple more and stock up. And I really never stock anything coz I believe its easy to find a replacement. But not for this shade, at this price and in this formula. Wear it with bare skin ( may be lightly evened out) with a hint of highlighter and it looks angelic. Very girl-dancing- in-golden-fields like.

Love. love.love.

Good Morning Ladies !

Hope you had a great weekend ! If you are a Mad Men fan, I'm sure it was. So good to get back to knowing what Don Draper has been up to.

I am in a really sunny mood today. I think, finding quality products at the neighborhood drugstore does this to me. Its the Milani HD Advance Concealer ($6.99) y'all. I not only love this product, I feel so good about it that I am recommending it to everybody !

Yellow Yellow Sweet Little Fellow

The Miani HD Concealer comes in a click pen model looking all bright and blingy in its gold packaging. One of the biggest concerns I've had with drugstore concealers has been the lack of yellow pigment. Most of them are pink or just plain beige. You pat it under your eye and they sit there staring into space ...doing nothing to hide your dark circles. This is why Milani gets much of my love - its truly yellow based. Check that out !

Nobody can complain about the lack of warmth. Its exactly what a warm skinned person like me needs to look bright and fresh !

Key Ingredients :
• Rona Coated Pigments that disguise dark shadows
• Invisaskin moisture base which keep the eye area hydrated, soften expressions lines and wrinkles
• Grant X Gamma Amino-Butyric Acid that plumps out creases, lines and imperfections
• Granactive RD 101 to help brighten and gently resurface the most delicate skin

Alicia Keys & I - Concealer Best Buds

I saw that the shade Medium Honey was used in Alicia Keys so I decided to try the same. Its perfect on my NC 40 (medium tan) skin tone. I almost feel like Alicia and I are best buds ! We use the same concealer , that's got to mean something !

One more major good thing about the concealer is the formula. I can never wear concealer and head out without applying some foundation because I feel like the concealer is too obvious. But with Milani HD one the formula sinks into your skin and merges with the top layer so well that I look naturally dark circle free. So now I don't have to add foundation just coz I did the concealer ! And for someone who likes to keep it as less as possible with makeup - this racks up huge points in favor of the concealer.

I am not the biggest fan of the click pen but really this isn't a complaint. I assume many women love it given that one of the best selling concealers of all times YSL Touche Eclat is a click pen.

Now all I want from Milani is to add a lot more shades so my deeper toned girlfriends get to try this too.

My second favorite lipstick from this line - Seashell Nude.

As much as I despise brown lipsticks , I am coming to believe that brown looks good on brown. Just as with any other color finding the right brown makes all the difference. I grew up seeing my beautiful aunt wear the most jarring brown lipstick that almost looked black. Of course it was the 90's and people world over loved brown makeup. She'd be an NC 40 too but that dark brown lipstick had a lasting effect on how I looked at brown lipsticks.

The newest term for brown lipstick is of course deep nude and you can call this lipstick that. Its a bronzy deep nude / very earthy shade on my lips. The formula is so very luscious that for $9 it is one of the very best formulas out there.

The shade is gorgeousness personified. I cant think of anybody that wont look good wearing it. The shade changes depending on your lip color. If you have pale /pinkish / light lips it appears less brown. I have mauve tones / medium pigmented lips and it looks more brown on me. On browner lips it will be a sensuous nude !

The title says it all.

I've never had any luck finding a good powder foundation from the drugstore. So, I am over the moon about finally finding one that exceeds all my expectations !

Shade & Formula

The Covergirl Tru Blend Minerals Pressed Mineral Foundation in 04 - Soft Honey is a near perfect match for my NC 40 skin tone. It looks a lot darker in the compact but its the glue to bringing together my dark chin with the rest of face which a couple of shades lighter.

This is a sheer to light foundation - not something that gives a whole lot coverage. If you are looking to hide blemishes or acne scars this alone may not be enough. This over a liquid or creme foundation will work better.

I am tinted moisturizer kinda girl so all I want from a powder foundation is to

- help even skin tone
- be light weight
- keep me looking fresh all day long.

I get all this and more !

Lookin
Clean & Fresh, Man !

I wore the foundation this past weekend over my Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel and got complimented ( from a boy, no less !) on how clean my face looked. It must have been good right coz we all know boys never notice anything.

If you have uneven skin tone and had a bout of dry skin - clean sounds mega fantastic to your ears . After almost 3 hours of wearing I still had a friend tell me that she wished she looked as fresh as I did. And then I told her I was testing a new foundation. Everybody gave huge points ! And I do too.

I wear all my powder foundation over a primer so they spread well. But this one does great over just a moisturizer. Even in Texan 100 degree weather I looked great for at least four - five hours. At the end of it I did a mini touch up with my Cover Fx Kabuki Brush (the best). The brush that comes with the product is useless.

The Covergirl Tru Blend Minerals Pressed Mineral Foundation can be found at all drugstores and Walmart for $10.11.

In Other News

I BOSTONMED !!!

I have a huge thing for medical dramas. Most keep me interested but this one has to be the best yet ! Finally a true show where unlike HouseMD the first diagnosis is not Lupus for everything. Plus how adorable are the doctors ! And they have the best personalities to match !

Dr.Dibar reminds me of the doc who operated on my mom a few years back - so sweet and reassuring ! Pina Patel - you the doll ! Cant wait for more episodes !

*****Update : New pictures added. Scroll down for eye makeup look with the eyeliners !*****

New drugstore eyeliners folks !!

New drugstore eyeliners in gorgeous shades !

New drugstore eyeliners in six gorgeous shades, creamy textures for $7.99 !

The new Covergirl Liquiline Blast Eye Liner Pencils follow in the colorful foot steps of the CoverGirl Smoky Shadow Blast Shadow Sticks as in each eyeliner pencil was made to match one of the shadow stick shades. The pencils are soft, apply like a dream, have good color pay off and come with a smudger tip a one end.

I'd rather call it eraser tip - in fact an eraser makes it more interesting to me. The eraser tip is a super handy tool for the winging obsessed. Sometimes you wing it too far and during such times you can use the eraser tip to lightly shorten the wing and voila things start to look much better !

I tried three shades

Brown Blaze - a creamy simple dark brown. My favorite of the three. It has the best staying power along the waterline. I love wearing this with deep green mascara - total tree hugger combination but looks fantastic !

Violet Voltage - Very pretty deep violet. Surprisingly looked great against my NC40 tan skin and brown eyes.
Green Glow - electric metallic green. Love love love. I wear this along the waterline and the brown along upper and lower lash line - the contrast is to die for ! But stay time along waterline is minimal - say 2-3 hours. Reminds me of Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Mildew.

These three shades are good. They really are but then there is one more super mega delicious shade that I simply must have. That divine thing is called Silver Spark - a metallic dark gray which could pass off as gray taupe. And I love gray taupe.

The other two shades are Black Fire and Blue Bloom. I don't know anything about them. But come July my CVS will start stocking these and I will start emptying the store of these.

Overall I am very impressed and these are my new fave to recommend !

Eye Makeup Look With Brown Blaze

Here I have on brown blaze along the lower waterline. And Estee Lauder Color Bold Volume Lifting Mascara in Emerald on my lashes. You'd think the green'll look garish but nope. It looks just as soft as any other mascara - you can even wear it work ! And man, do they make brown eyes look browner !

As part of their Spring/ Summer Collection Rimmel released six gorgeous shades of Glam Eyes Eye shadows.

According to Rimmel "This soft, silky formula delivers bold, brilliant and glamorous eyes with even, smooth, crease-proof application and high color impact. Lavishly pigmented for longwearing, stay true color, the pressed powders are embossed with Rimmel London’s signature crown and housed in a glamorous black compact."

For the most part everything they promise is true - the colors are brilliant, silky formula, neat packaging , costs only $3.50 each, is crease proof and lasts a while ! The shades include

Glam Ice - shimmery pearly white
Spicy Bronze - shimmery bronze
Posh Peacock - shimmery blue
Night Jewel - shimmery black
Royal Violet - satin lavender
Celestial Sapphire - matte deep blue

The shimmery shades have a lot more color pay off that the matte / satin ones and are the nice shimmer kind. No gritty messy glitter - just a soft formula that applies well and stays long. My most favorite of the bunch were Spicy Bronze and Night Jewel - oh these two together will create magic on your eyes. Perfect for summer - day / night ! If you arnt tired of my bronzy / brown looks yet - I'd love to show how I wear these. Would you like to see em ?

Overall, I love the shades, like the formula a whole lot and adore the price ! Make sure you get the shimmery ones.

At first glance its hard to miss how much these look like the Urban Decay Ink For Eyes Eyeliners. But I'm gonna throw this out there right away - I like these better than Ink For Eyes.

For starters the Hard Candy Hot Smudge comes with two shades and only costs $6. I tried Rebel - a bright blue and a clear primer with hint of sparkles. The brush that comes with the product is all I use. It is great to draw even a very thin line. The liner itself has a creamy texture but not very ultra creamy like Ink For Eyes. Those ultra creamy ones smudge and are not good for liner purposes. But this one works perfectly well as a liner and as a base for shadows.

They didn't smudge or touch my crease like the Urban Decay ones did. This is good stuff , man.

Overall for $6 this is so worth trying. Plus they are sold at Walmart - if you don't like the shade you tried you simply return it with the receipt. But take it from me - chances are you will only be going back to get more !

Hiya Ladies !

Happy Monday ! How was the week end ??
Better than mine I hope !

Gettin
on with beauty bidness - lets talk CoverGirl Shadow Blast Sticks. Its hard to resist these bright shades walking down the aisles of CVS. The orange/ bronze. green silver all beg to be bought and worn. And the ads for these only make one want them even more !

Each stick comes with two shades - one an eyeliner/crease shade and the other an all over lid shade. Nice concept and totally works if it weren't for the creasing. But then you already knew that. When I see creamy shadows the first thing I care about is creasing - no matter how adorable the color everything is ruined when I have goopy eyeshadow.

One way to wear these is of course under powder eyeshadow - they do a good job of brightening the shadow when layered underneath. But even layering is tricky - so after applying the shadow blast runneth your finger over to remove excess. A thin layer aids the powder shadow stick better and avoid getting settled into lines.

Another thing is to use them as eyeliners - this is what I've been doing. The coppery shade that comes with the green is too cute with brown eyes. The sparkly black is great too ! But my super favorite is the one on the far right - the purple taupe. So so so very gorgeous. Given that they are so creamy / waxy they don't stay long on waterline but along the lash line they make for a good option.

Overall - if you find em on sale give it a go ! Its hard to resist these colors. If not I hear CG has some new eyeliners out - time to try them !

Have you tried the CG Smoky Shadow Blasts ? You likey ? Is there a better way to wear them ?

What a mouthful.

I just call it Carmindy Lipsticks.

I've written about these lipsticks before but not on this shade. Its about the most natural looking shade on my lips and for my NC 40 skin tone. A burst of mauve with microscopic particles of bronze with a hint of brown and pink. I read somewhere once that the best lipstick for anyone would be a shade that was closest to the color of their gums / inside of the mouth. This shade is pretty close for me.

I've been wearing this almost everyday since I laid my hands on it. Its the one I go to when I dont wanna think about what to wear. The last time I was this crazy about a shade , it was Clinique Butter Shine Lipstick - Baby Baby.

This shade, Sunbeam, was specifically recommended for summer by Carmindy herself to get a luminous natural look ! Its the perfect lipstick if that's the look you are going for. Say Aishwarya Rai at the French Open - looking so natural yet & pretty. with the soft makeup. That's exactly what this shade does to me.

More good things - decent packaging, no scent, no taste, very moisturizing, $7, available at drugstores. Also with 'very moisturing' comes the part about not so long staying...

Have you tried any lipsticks from this range ? If not - you must give it a go. Keep the receipt handy if the shade doesn't work out for your skin tone :)
