Whassup y'all !

Tell you what I have a feeling this is the wedding season . Why else would my inbox be flooded with mails from brides - to - be !!! I love helping out with as much as I know and I am right on it. So brides, I'll get back to y'all soon - I promise.

Speaking of e-mails, I had one this morning informing me that I hadn't written on makeup removers - ever. True - I haven't ! And this is me getting to work answering the e- mails .

I'm cool like that (guess that song)

My most favorite, the best, no more eyeliner induced dark circles, works on everything makeup remover is Neutrogena Oil Free Eye Makeup Remover. The product even takes care of those (dadgum) sparkles. Hello UD 24/7 eyeliner in Crash - Silver glitter everywhere even after three days of use - that was the day I ran outta Neutrogena and had to use Clinique ( blue bottle)

It costs around $8 depending on the size and lasts for a long long time. I think I buy one every 5- 6 months. I've tried several other makeup removers, including the oh-so-popular ones from Clinique. Didn't stand a chance against Neutrogena. I am never ever going to spend $$$ on any other makeup remover.

Besides it doesn't make sense spending $ on makeup removers. I'd rather save that money and use it on lipsticks.

Now that makes sense.

Lipsticks.

Though it says oil - free there is a little oil-ish feeling left after using it. But it hardly bothers me because it takes off makeup in one clean swipe, does not damage my delicate skin around the eyes and anyways I always wash my face with a cleanser after taking makeup off !

TIP : Always shake the bottle before use. The formula tends to separate and shaking is essential to combine the layers.

TIP TIP : If you are out of makeup remover use oil (coconut / olive) or even milk . Try not to rub the cleanser under your eyes to shake out the eyeliner.

What is your favorite makeup remover ? Dish...

Me Out !

Love,
Indian Girl

Indian Girl!

I started using makeup (foundation, concealer, powder, blush) regularly on my face and I broke out everywhere! Huge massive cysts all over my face. What do I do?!

Hi Farheen !

:( sorry about that.

It will help if I know what brand of what you used. Your skin could be allergic to some ingredients in it. Most common ingredients that people are allergic to are fragrance and silicon from what I've seen. Better to look for products that mention - no added fragrance, oil free.

Also has there been any change in your skin care / hair care routine ? New moisturizer / cleanser / sunscreen / hair conditioner ? Conditioner is source of acne too. I'm sure you would have noticed if this was the case but have you been trying any new body cleansing diet ?

I was using the CoverFX foundation and I've been using Nars Orgasm blush. The blush i've been using for a while so I doubt that was it. No cleansing diets but for the winter months, I added a couple of drops of olive oil to my moisturizer (Garnier lift). Could that have been it?
I saw your post on the acne cleansing routine and have been following that for a week. The tea tree oil has helped dry the zits but I do have some scarring leftover. Any recs for that?

Hey IG!

I use the oil cleansing method to remove all the gunk from my face at the end of everyday...works super nicely for me to get rid of stubborn liquid and gel eyeliners that dont budge...plus it makes my skin soft and moisturized...

Hi farheen !

I know Cover FX foundations have sunscreen in them and some people are allergic to sunscreen. I've heard natural oils are non comedogenic but if you don't really need it - don't add it. Have you the moisturizer without the oil ? If that didn't cause acne go for just the moisturizer. Lets skip olive oil for now.

As far as scars go I got on Aveda enbrightenment products and they had a huge impact on the over all clarity of my skin. Scars take a while to fade ( 2 - 3 months ) so stick with a routine. A reader once told me emu oil helped clear her scars fast !

I am also lovin the Burts Bees Res Q ointment for acne. When ever one pops up I apply Res Q before bed and by morning the size has reduced considerably and eventually leave no scars in 3 - 4 days.

Hope this helps ya, Farheen !

I use the Johnson's Baby Oil Gel. Since it is a gel, it wont run all over your face. I just squeeze some out of the bottle, apply to face and leave it on for a minute. When I run a cotton swab over my face, the make up comes right off. I tend to break out, so I wash my face afterwards. It works out great for me and plus it is super cheap. :)

i use a mix of olive and castor oil, just gently rub it in and wipe off with a wet cotton pad... it nourishes my eyelashes too which i love.

I use this eye makeup remover from the Boots called Boots Botanics Soothing Eye Makeup Remover. It has soothing moss extracts and works wonderfully! I randomly picked it up at the suggestion of the Boots rep at Target and it was the best eye makeup remover I've ever used. It is soothing and doesn't burn your eyes. It is a bit oily but when rinsed with water, it is fine. It's about $6 at Target and well worth the price for 5 fl oz (150 mL).

I use Maybelline eye-lip make up remover and as compared to the price it works wonders... the solutions is water based so no sense of oilyness and definitely worht the price

Wal-Mart and CVS carry their brand of the Neutrogena eye makeup remover. They both work just as good as the name brand and are about $3 cheaper. I've been using them for years.
