Ola Ladies !!

Its only Tuesday ...but the past few days have been eventful for Indian Girl ! First somebody signed three vertical lines and took my UPS package !!! Not a real signature...just three lines !! What did it contain ? Lipsticks of course !! No points for guessing that one !

Have you tried the HD foundations from Make Up Forever ? I was checking those at Sephora a couple of days back and this MUA comes to me telling me all about it. She tells me that this is her favorite foundation for Women of Color and goes on about getting me matched. By then I had already found my match and was happy about how it looked. But she did the classic mistake....picked out a foundation at least 3 shades darker and told me it was my perfect shade. I just smiled, thanked her and left. When when when will they learn to match us ?

And last night...now this is weird...not spooky but weird. I was on my way home and it was around 9PM. I had just seen a car pull away to the shoulder with a flat tire. It was one of the windiest nights and just as I was thanking my good luck...I have one too !!! Forty five minutes and five chewing gums later AAA showed up, fixed it and finally your girl got home...

Now if you were following me twitter you would have heard all these stories LIVE. LOL !

Oh and Starbucks is coming out new ice cream flavors !!!!! Caramel Macchiato is my most fav coffee (closely followed by Espresso Truffle). And now I can eat my Caramel Macchiato tooo !!! Hurrray !

And I hear Asin and Sonam Kapoor are endorsing fairness creams ?? Now brightening scar area, skin clearing, glow enhancing - I get. But fairness !!! Guess somethings never change...

How is it going for you ? Lets play catch up ! Leave a comment and tell us how you have been doing lately.

Love,
Indian Girl

I hear about MUAs not being too good at matching skin of color. It is soooo annoying!!!!!
I have also heard tons about the MUFE foundation, so I migth splurge and give it a try.

Happens to me all the time! They always match me up to a darker shade and insist it suits my "golden" complexion! It’s aggravating!

I've tried MUFE and its good but drying and dries up real fast while you are blending it in. So a good moisturizer (especially if you have dry skin like mine) followed by primer and real fast blending will make MUFE a winner!

Those ice creams are phenomenal..and pure evil!!

When will the fairness obsession stop? and when will manufactures quit making products that promote racist mindsets...sad very sad! and when will B'wood tartlets quit being the "face" of racism?!!

Ps: Sorry about your packages:(

Hi Indian Girl,
I just discovered your blog yesterday through I<3makeup's blog and i'm already hooked! i love your site. newho i just thought i'd put in my two cents in regards to the fairness creams. i think south asia's/africa's general obsession with fairness creams is wrong when it hurts other ppl or isloates ppl from society. in india this is sometimes the case in less developed areas but in general it doesn't discriminate someone any more than a big nose or split ends would. it is similar to the western obsession with tanned skin. it is uncommon for caucasians to have glowy, broned skin and they therefore pursue it-just as it is uncommon for us indian girls to have alabaster skin and we therefore find it beautiful and pursue it. some say it is a racist mindset instilled in us by the British but on the contrary this mindset has existed much before the british came to india. so in conclusion (lol) i don't think there is anything wrong with fairness creams. but of course beauty is in the eye of the beholder. once again love your blog keep doing what you do!:)
