Starting this week, I will having a new feature called "What what what what what with a FOOD BLOGGER" every Thursday. The Food Blogging community is huge and there is no real beauty without a proper diet. So why not ask the wonderfully talented Food Bloggers on their makeup and beauty secrets !

This week's featured Food Blogger is Ranjani. She is the owner Wake up and Smell the Masala, an awesome food blog. I have made several dishes from her blog and keep going back for more because the recipes come with great instructions that make cooking a breeze for me. She is also known for her cooking videos on youtube ! Ranjani is regular reader of my blog and helped me immensely in putting this feature together ! Thank you, girl !

So, lets see, what secrets she has to share with us !

Which is your one "go to" makeup item?

It has to be Urban Decay’s 24/7 glide on pencil in “zero” it’s an intense black, that I can use a smidgeon of if I want a subtle look or pile it on to intensify if I want a dark kohl lined look. It doesn’t smudge, and it’s super creamy, a definite HG for me!

What beauty products do you have in purse right now?

At the moment my poor makeup bag is bursting at the seams, it is over stuffed for some reason. I usually only wear lip balm and perhaps a hint of kohl at work, but I was going out tonight so I took some products that I felt were “essentials”, whether I use them tonight or not will be a different story

I have Neutrogena Oil blotting sheets, Urban Decay’s 24/7 glide on pencil, Bobbi Brown tinted lip balm in Hazelnut (another HG, it’s my lips only better, plus the formula is super moisturizing), Chanel Inimitable mascara, Burt’s bees lip balm (can’t live w/o this stuff), Mac lipstick- Viva glam V, Nars lip lacquer in Eros, Mac blush in Sweet as Cocoa, Nars Albatross, Mac pencil eyeliner in Teddy, Bourjois liquid eyeliner in black and YSL Touché éclat, and a blush brush from Mac.

What "beauty food" is a must for you?

Spinach – it really does help hair fall!

What is your beauty / make up regime before hosting a fabulous dinner party?

It depends on the kind of crowd, and the kind of food I’m serving. Typically if I know we’re going to be taking pictures at home with the guests I’ll try to use a moisturizing mask or peel while showering so my skin is glowy (I have a phenomenal olive oil mask from L’occitane), and apply a touch of concealer where needed (typically to hide dark circles), a hint of eyeliner on the top or the bottom I don’t do both when I’m just entertaining at home…it looks too intense and made up for me, curl my lashes and use a mascara (either Chanel or L’oreal voluminous) and then I’ll use a soft blush that compliments the tinted lip balm / gloss that I decide to use.

I try to stay away from foundations as far as possible, and just use oil blotting sheets as needed (my face is an oil factory that is also very acne prone, so I keep blotting sheets on hand all the time) It is a good idea to keep your skin looking matte while putting finishing touches to the food, especially when you’re cooking, because the heat will react with your makeup/skin and make it shiny and greasy….not a good idea!

What would you classify your make up regime as ?

It really depends on my mood, because when I get lazy….I’m not going to put in any effort! On an everyday basis though, I am lip gloss/balm and kohl girl.
