I like to store mine in Quart / Gallon sized Ziploc bags. They are sanitary IMO. I wash them regularly with shampoo, air dry them and zip em up in bags. One bag with eye makeup brushes and another with face brushes. One more with brushes I don't use very often.
Something about storing them in open pots scares me. Especially when I see the amount of dust a house can accumulate. So, storing them in bags is my way of taking control of the situation.
How do you store your brushes ?

I store them in upright pots, since I use them everyday and need easy access. One of my resolutions for 2010 is to wash them more often though!
I usually store mine in a pencil stand sort of a box...but your post just made me wonder if putting them in a ziploc bag would be better.
I put them in a ziploc bag too!! Thought I was the only one who does that..
good to know :-)
I store them in my Caboodle. It has 3 compartments - I store them in the top tray, lying flat on their sides. I don't have that many brushes though - I think around 7 or 8, so they all fit nicely. No germs can get on them as the Caboodle snaps shut!
Wow that's a big collection. I keep mine in a pencil case type box. By the way someone told me to first dip the brush in coconut oil before washing it with shampoo. So that's what I do, I guess it keeps the bristles in good shape.
I like d pic, really funny! I dont have many, so no point in talking abt my storage! jst pop them in my wash bag!
I store them in clear upright pots as well, filled with these beady marbles so that the brushes stay up. It makes them a little more decorative on my counter, and I think (hope) I wash them often enough that dust isn't a problem.
