Its tough not to like Thandie Newton. She is smart, sexy and is a great actress ! I like her; So does famous Makeup Artist Julie Hewett. And that's why she named this brilliant shade after Thandie Newton. It also happens to be a shade the actress really likes ! Same here, Thandie -I adore the shade too ! May be we could meet up for coffee and talk beauty forever ! I know I'd love that !

Thandie is a lipstick that dresses up any outfit ! I was meeting my friend at Subway for a late night dinner and the moment she saw my lipstick she asked " What's the occasion ? Its only Subway !" That's the effect it has ! I have written about several shades that look good on a variety of skin tones. But this one is a shade that will look brilliant on almost everybody ! It makes any occasion a special one. Okay so what exactly is the shade ? A sheer red with hints of gold. Now tell me, if that aint classy ...what is !!

NOTE FOR DESI GIRLS : Remember we talked about lipsticks that go with Desi clothes ? You can find a bunch of them here. But Thandie tops it all. Womenfolk will gather around wondering what it is you are wearing coz its so gorgeous. Trust me , will ya ! If there is one thing I know - its lipsticks.

Love,
Indian Girl

I have yet to find a Julie Hewett lippie or cheekie that does not suit Indian skin. I have gem, oona, film and nude noir. Jules, Celeste and Kiki from the Bijou Collection. Mimi, Harlow, Bardot and Sophia. And sadly I own all the cheekies ... is that an obsession or what :).

Putting Thandie, Scarlett and Chloe on my list

Whoa Whoa Whoa ! This is MAJOR ! Maaayjooooooooooorr ! Please gimme a moment to recover.

Okay. Better now, I think. Wow, girl that's awesome ! I got all their noirs during my red obsession phase. I am so thankful for that phase coz that's when I discovered JH. I remember the first time I laid my eyes on the golden tube - love. When did u first discover JH ?
I am perpetually obsessed with Julie Hewett. They are one of the best boutique make up brands ever ! Everything they make is so special...
And no, owning all cheekies is not sad. Its bloody brilliant ! Temme more...

I discovered JH searching for what else " a red lip". I hate ... no wait abhor going to the makeup counters because most makeup artists put me in very dark shades a.k.a maroon or brown( ick ick ick ) with the exception of the lovely ladies at NARS and Chanel at NM in NorthPark. Great stuff and awesome SA but I really dont like the "glitter" I know its supposed to be shimmer but to me its gliter. JH looked like it wasnt glittery plus they had sheer formulas. Once I tried my first lippie it was love . Absolutely love how smooth and moisturizing the lipstick and glosses are too. Hands down the best formula, it beats even Three Custom Color

I have recently branched into their palettes ... I have Twilight thanks to your review and Poppy, along with Cleo/Goldie shimmy.

Ok I admit I need JH and lipstick addiction therapy because I am online tempted to order more stuff ... esp the ginger loose blush.

Cheers
Sunitha

P.S
Still waiting on the Lipstick Queen order to arrive for the Thriller swatch

Sunitha :
JH beat 3C any day as far as lipstick go ! 3C have their concealer right. I'll give em that ! And OMG Twlight. What a palette ! I feel like the model in Armani Code for Women adverts whenever I have that black shade on (which is not very often at all) Mysterious... even if its only me whoz saying it ;)
