Not a big fan of this girl since I saw an interview of hers at the Loreal party. All her casual interviews are pretty cute but this Loreal one did require a dose of professionalism. To me she sounded like a 10 year old who was trying to make a speech. I wouldn't hire her to represent my brand if I had one. But since that's not happening anytime soon...may be you could tell me what she's telling after the words " Like a pearl....its...."...its what ?

Not feeling the ad either. The first close up shot shows the abundance of makeup. If its for a skincare line, I'd keep her face looking as natural possible. Its very pretty makeup but just a bit more for the ad. I'm a BIG fan of Indian adverts, just not this one. We make some of the best, most meaningful ones . The BGM is pretty good but that's about it.

That apart, I believe pearl is very good for the skin. Is the line now available in Indian markets ? Have you tried it ? Any good ? Tell me tell me...I wanna know

Love,
Indian Girl

Indian Girl, I have tried this product in India, and it is a very good mass market cream! Don't let the moron fronting the ads discourage you!

Lifestyle store at Bangalore Central mall carries L'Oreal galore!

Honestly, i think it's a shame to encourage women to become white! Our color is our pride! And i hate Sonam, she's a bad actress and a bad ambassador!

The product itself kinda makes me mad. It seems like cosmetics companies always try to sell Indian women some sort of product that promises to lighten your skin, or even if it doesn't state it explicitly, words are used ,like "white", to suggest the same. What is wrong with being brown? LOL

That girl has far too much makeup to make her look "natural".

This stuff's okaaay (I bought mine in Hong Kong) - but it has a tendency to ball up if you're not careful about rubbing it in properly. Kinda nasty to discover white streaks along your jawline midmorning.

If you're after whitening moisturisers, which I find enhance luminosity rather than lightening my skintone (I'm NC35), the Ponds and Garnier ones are better moisturisers overall - they don't ball up. The Garnier is a lovely gel cream that sinks in so nicely! (and even better, it's fairly cheap too.)

Folks, I am east asian, and one of the things that I struggle with is brown spots and uneven pigmentation. There is no cosmetic product that will make you white, but there are good products that even skin tone and minimize brown spots.

In the west, these products are called "Brightening" instead of lightening, because heaven knows, there are tons of pale people craving suntans!

You can't win sometimes, if you are a cosmetic company.

Agreed. To be honest, before I watched it I thought maybe the interview wasn't as bad as you suggested. But geez, girl, you were going easy on her. That was worse than you described--with the hand movements, the adjusting of her dress, and the glib salesperson like comments--"The secret to my beauty is using L'Oreal products." Ugh. So beautiful yet so inarticulate.

Jamilla Camel there are alot of other products especially in America that are focused on removing dark sports ( Rx for brown skin, ambi..etc) but they do not say for a " fair healthy complection. " It didn`t say an even healthy compection, it said fair thereby implying they want to colonize your face and reinforce the bullshit that white is indeed equated to beauty. URGH the name gets me everytime..whiteneing cream =/ why must it be called that ? They don`t caller bronzer or tanner ..blackening cream or browning cream =/

ish my people this is `09 we need to better . " the darker the flesh the deeper the roots ." It`s about damn time indian people accepted and loved ALL of our skin tones. lol 16. y.o rant complete =)

oh and boo people who do these commericials and then on top of this FAIL . bipasha ftw ! =)
