Thevi Cosmetics is a new makeup line created by Thevi Thambirajah who was born to Sri Lankan parents in New York state. In her website Thevi speaks about how at the beginning of her career she couldnt find the right shades of make up to suit her coloring. Through her new line of products she shares her passion for wearable vibrant colors for the everyday ethnic women.

The website describes the Thevi women as " She represents the New Ethnic Market. She is every light-to-dark skinned woman of Asian, South Asian, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, and Mediterranean descent. Sophisticated. Educated. With a multi-faceted lifestyle. Usually first generation American, she holds to the traditions of her family and her ethnic roots, often has close ties to the cultural diversity of other ethnic communities, while being deeply involved with the modern American lifestyle."

Thats me, Thats me !!! LOL ! Thats most of us...representing out roots in a whole another country. I love this description of Thevi woman. I see my dream in this line. If I had the resources I would have opened a cosmetics line myself and described my line in these same words. I would love to work for this organization ! Thevi...are you hiring?

Further describing the values of the Thevi woman the site says " She identifies closely with the traditions of her mother and elder female relatives regarding beauty, femininity and self image. She is focused on a daily lifestyle which promotes a balanced life, inner beauty, elegant simplicity, and spiritual energy. Her personal appearance is extremely important, and she is comfortable with prestige quality and service. She embraces life. She embraces family. She embraces her own femininity. She embraces color in all of her surroundings."

I love how they havent gone overboard with their products but at the same time have something vital to offer. The line as of now consisits of Mineral Pressed Powder, Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation, Mineral Finishing Pressed Duo, Matte Eyeshadow, Eyeliner Pencil, Triple Split Shadow, Mascara, Lipstick, Lipliner, Sheer Matte Blush. All the basics covered and a little more.

It looks beautiful and I hope the line stands up to all this. I havent yet had a chance to review the products, but I am sure I will test it out pretty soon. I get so many questions and email from fellow Indian girls tellin me how difficult it is to find a good foundation / concealer. Most products are either too pink or too yellow. I feel ya on that...I havent used foundation in a while now coz I dont feel good about my skin when I do. The color looks fake and just not me... I hope Thevi is the answer to our prayers !

What do you guys think about Thevi Cosmetics? Have any of you tried it? If so, what are your thoughts? Do you think this line will put an end to all the make up woes of ethnic women? I sure do hope so !

PS: Do you like the new font or do you want me to go back to what it looked like earlier? Do you want this but bigger? Lemme know :)

I wish we had such brands in Singapore. When an indian creates a makeup line, its brilliant (most of the time!) cuz it flatters our skin tones so well. The colours in these collection r sweet
