Ok this is not exactly how most " cutting the crease" looks look. But this is my interpretation of it. I tried making it more wearable as opposed to the drag queenish dark, sharp defining of the crease. My version is super mellow ...but bold for day wear (for me).
I used the pinkish red color from the LA Colors palette in Wine and Roses. For the crease I used Milani Storm. Use a small crease brush to help define the crease. I used the pale pink color as highlight from the same palette. The liner is Prestige liquid liner in black. You can take it another step ahead by using a more sparkly color as your highlight under the brows, defining your brows "extremely" well and adding false lashes.

I was a complete Kohl girl in college too! I still do it often, coz nothing beats Kohl in making me feel good about my looks :)
I will put together an article soon , on simple ways to spice up your looks. Hope that'll help !
