Or should it be Beauty By Yogurt ?

Beauty From?

Beauty In?

All of the above?

That’s about it – its all around beauty with this readily available product. And here goes the story I've shared with Vogue India this week.

If there ever was one routine I followed with respect to beauty – it has got to be this early morning yogurt therapy that I’ve been into for the past six weeks. If you are a beauty addict you know how hard it is to stick with one product when a million others are calling out to you from every direction. But I was / am on a natural mission and that has made things easier. After neem I went straight for yogurt. Creamy, fatty, delicious home made yogurt applied generously over my face and neck every single day at dawn.

Four weeks later the results started appearing in the form of radiant, clean, soft, supple and super taut skin. The word glow is overused in cosmetics – but this time I glowed from within. However, the most magnificent effect was on my pores. I don’t think I remember what they are and hopefully won’t have to. The exceptional moisture from the fat in yogurt has an astounding effect in the quality of your skin. And according to mom – yogurt helps suck the heat out of your skin hence regulating its temperature.

I have been using plain natural yogurt – with culture. And, I have word of caution for you on it. The first couple of times you might feel your face reddening but eventually it stops. There is no burn or itch just the good bacteria in yogurt doing its part and destroying bad, alien bacteria that can cause acne.

Start out on your yogurt therapy now and in four weeks you’ll throw out your deep moisturizers, serums, face primers and anything else promising soft, supple, taut skin for $$$. Trust me on this one, will ya !

Love,
Indian Girl

This has been part of my bridal beauty regime :) but all I do is add a little bit of honey to it!

Hey Ki !

Congratulations ! Honey + yogurt - I'll probably lick it off before it reaches my face

Hi! Excuse my ignorance its been a long day, but do you mean you use this as a daily mask like leave it on for ten mins or so then wash off? Would it be suitable for rosacea prone skin? Thanks, love your blog btw! X

This looks great, does it have to be home made yoghurt or can i buy yoghurt with culture?

Just a word of caution... It is not that great of idea to keep using this if the redness worsens or continues. You're actually aggravating blood vessels, that may cause problems long term.

How long should we leave it on for? & Just wash it off with water after?

This sounds great and I am going to try this, just one question; How long do you leave the yogurt on your face for?

Hi Anon !
Aww...thank you ! I would double check with a physician if one is prone to rosacea. But otherwise yes, use it like a mask and leave it on till it dries like 10-15 mins.

Hi Candy !

Yes, best applied on cleansed skin so the good moisture gets absorbed.

Hi Anon !

Sure ! Use the greek yogurt.

Hi Anish !

I'd love to say go for homemade but I know its difficult making it everyday. So go ahead use store bought and see how skin reacts. May be do a patch test on your arm ? Just to be on the safe side.

Hi Jas !

Yes 10 - 15 mins is good. It ussually dries up in that time. Wash off with warm water and dab with a wash cloth.

Hi,
I stumbled upon this blog while reviewing natural skin products. I've used "besan" + yoghurt on my skin before but never just yoghurt. Tried if with a little bit of honey last night and holy cow, I think my forehead (well a corner of it) is having a breakout. It's not itchy or anything though. Could this have caused it? Just confused because I have used yoghurt as an ingredient in other natural skin care and didn't irritate my skin before.

Hi,
I've tried yoghurt as an ingredient with other natural skin care before ("besan" and fruits sometimes). Just tried yoghurt on its own with a bit of honey and I think it caused a corner on my forehead to break out. It doesn't itch though. Should I be concerned? I don't plan to do this regime everyday. I thought twice a week should be enough for now.
