Lovely reader Rima was recently in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia where she happened to find a great line of makeup brushes ! Rima was kind enough to share the deets with us.
Thank you Rima - the brushes are gorgeous !

"Brand - Mikyajy
Website - www.mikyajy.com (currently under construction)
Products purchased - Makeup brushes from the "Girls Tools" range (10 brushes + brush roll)
Purchased from - Mikyajy company outlet at a mall in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Price - Around 200 Saudi Riyals (roughly INR 2600/USD 57 if my math is right)

Naturally, Mikyajy is a brand that most of us have not heard of. I was apprehensive about entering the store but the product packaging looked so great that I had to take a look. I went in and swatched a few products on my skin to test the quality. I also smelled them! Excellent stuff, to say the least! I decided to skip the makeup and buy the brushes as those were what I needed most.

The bristles are oh so soft and fine! Even after a thorough cleaning, they don't lose their shape or softness. The handles are non-slippery and fit snugly between my fingers. I would rate these brushes better than Mac. Yes ladies, BETTER! I find it difficult to believe my luck. Who gets to buy 10 excellent, professional quality brushes at such a cheap price? You know how expensive good quality makeup brushes are.. Though the brushes are still going strong, it scares me when I think that I might never get to lay my hands on this brand again! :( "

A few pictures of Mikyajy stores ... I love how colorful the stores are !

Ahh Mikyajy!! I love this brand. I've been working in ABu Dhabi for the past 3 years. This make up line carries the BEST kohl eyeliners I have EVER used. When I started working in AD three years ago, I noticed how beautifully the Arab women do their eye makeup. They use a lot of black kohl and liner, much like what us desis like. And all of them recommended I pick up Mikyajy eyeliners if I like black eye makeup. EVen the coloured liners are so vibrant. Their line "22K" is AMAZING! I bought most of the eyeliners from that line. The best thing is, these liners are able to withstand the 50 degree celcius heat and humidity of the region... never melts or smudges!
Thanks so much for this review Rima. I visit Mikyajy a lot, but have never ventured into looking at the brushes, because I've stayed loyal to MAC brushes for years. I must check these out now. DO try the eye makeup at Mikyajy though. You will not be disappointed!

I know Mikyajy in Dubai! My sis bought for me a smokey eye palette which consists a jumbo crayon pencil in black, a matte black eyeshadow and one black kajal liner with smudger. These three are great for smokey eyedo, the kajal liner is similar to MAC smolder but of coz this doesnt smudge or crease or smudge!

Rima Kaur said... @ March 19, 2010 at 11:46 PM

farah, besides the brushes i got a nail block for my nails. i also got a free lip gloss and eye pencil. the lip gloss is non sticky and long lasting. the pencil is intensely packed with pigment, but a bit difficult to sharpen. besides these, i have not tried anything else.

why don't you go ahead and try their products? let us know about your experiences. i am sure there are many women out there who will benefit from it. sadly mikyajy isn't available in india or i would have gone back for more.

lilybiscuit, somehow i missed your comment earlier. i dug those photos out from the internet. i am sure a lot of women will benefit if their website starts selling online!
