"so apparently youre indian and you know lots of makeup tips,
so heres my question the smoky / dark /slick eyed look works well for most 'white' girls but its a bit more complicated for indian/paki girls cuz of the common "panda eyes", you follow me? so say if i wanted to make my eyes , which are naturally small and brown look more...say..victoria secret-like, what style/techniques/manner would befit me?"
What advice do you have for Amrit ? I know a lot of you are awesome with makeup !
And gosh, is it that apparent that I'm Indian ! LOL !

Hmm...I am not sure if this helps much, but here's my technique:
a concealer- a little lighter than your normal shade- around and on the eyelid.
neutral eyeshadows- shades of brown, bronze, copper, even golds over the entire lid.
"smokey" or blended out dark or contrasting color, such as a dark blue, black, violet, any super dark color. Or, for day look, pick a lighter shade, like bright purple, green, or blue. Bright colors make the eyes look bigger.
Also, white eyeliner on the waterline. It makes your eye look bigger and less sleepy. Use regular eyeliner (black, brown, or bright colors) on the lash lines.
Use a eyelash curler. I like the sephora brand eyelash curler. It doesn't pinch. Using a lash curler also makes your eyes look bigger. Keep the look with mascara.
The brushes you use for makeup also make a big difference. If you don't want to look clownish, certain brushing pick up little or lots of color. Use a smudge brush to blend on the lashline or out. Check out CoastalScents.com They have cheap brush sets, with descriptions of where to use on the eye or face.
I really don't have much else to offer, because I am not entirely sure if I understand what you are describing. I'm from the Caribbean, with Indian heritage.

i agree with amrit, the smokey eyes end up worsening the raccoon eyes. i just try blending colors that would show up better. like red and gold, pink and silverish, but again i dont go for full blown color.

i'm of indian heritage myself, and i love dark smokey eyes. i find that blending works, so make sure you take the time to blend well, and don't put on too much on the lower lid.
Concealer is the key really ... if you have access to custom blending like prescriptives or elizabeth arden, have them custom blend a concealer for you. The right base for eyemakeup makes a huge difference
And ofcourse shadow placement based on your eye shape. I find I need more blending inward and lower on the crease for my eye shape. There are several tutorials on YouTube for smokey eyes for deeper/smaller/wide set etc eyes. The other tip, if you have access to a sephora , mac, and other makeup counters it to walk around, look at the make up artist and how they have done their eye makeup( most of them tend to wear smokey eyes) if you see one that you like ask her to do a smokey eye on you. Might also help if the artist has an eye shape similar to yours. I have always had better luck with MA who are WOC because they tend to understand our issues better.
Hey! So I'm half Indian and I've definitely had this problem a couple of times...like everyone else, I'd suggest a really good, thick concealer under the eye, perhaps a shade or two (but not a smidge above that otherwise you'll look weirdly grey under the eyes) -- I suggest MAC Studio Finish.
Also, when I do my smokey eyes I usually don't just load black shadow on my eyes, instead I put a colour on my lids and then smoke out the outer half. My favourite combo is a gold shadow on the inner half and a black shadow on the outer (don't forget to blend a lot!).
Finally, when doing a smokey eye do your entire upper lid first. If you're satisfied with the way it looks, don't bother doing anything to your lower lashine because that's where things veer into panda territory. If you do, however, want some extra drama, don't line your waterline and instead take a powder shadow on a liner brush and line the outer third or half of your lower lashline, so it looks soft. Do not make that line too thick otherwise...well, we can talk about pandas again.

Concealer under the eyes is a must. You may also want to cosider using a colour corrector if you have very dark eye-circles (I use Bobbi Brown's Colour Corrector in Peach). Another tip is using a primer like Urban Decay Primer Potion or MAC Painterly Paint Pot - this will prevent the eyeshadow from migrating. Another use of Painterly is that it will give your eyelid a uniformed colour and won't make it so brown.
Finally, start doing smokey eye with browns first. Then you can add in some golds. Once you've mastered that then gradually move up a notch with greys, blues, purples, etc, etc.
