Personally I don't take anything special internally to aid outside beauty , be it for my skin or hair or nails. I sure would like to care take of myself. In general I eat healthy and that's it. I take in loads of veggies, fruits, nuts (every morning) and drink plenty of water. Its not like I make a conscious effort to intake all this but being a foodie does have its advantages. My regular eating habits have kept me the way I am. Except for my nails I'd say everything else is pretty good.

But then I wonder, should I be doing anything else ? Should I take multivitamins regularly ? Should I drink a tbsp of Vitamin E daily ? Fish capsules ? Or is there something else everybody is doing that I am not aware of ?

What do you do to keep you looking healthy and better ? Is there anything special you eat or drink that has had visible effects on your body ? And no thankfully, we not talking the sideways effect that comes from ice creams and chocolates.

Love,
Indian Girl

i dont take any supplements but i'm a health nut!i always eat healthy food and also keep in mind to take DRI of calcium, potassium, Vit-C and other main vitamins and proteins..I eat a lot of veggetable and fruits and lean proteins.im overall a healthy person and i do believe that whatever you put into ur mouth has an effect in your body.like too much sugar can denature the collagen over time..

I also think, in my case, it's more the things I don't take in that help me feel better... I don't have the best diet ever, but I avoid alcohol, cigarettes, excess sugar and salt (unless I'm on my monthly visitor haha), I've cut out coffee and I started taking a multivitamin. I also veeeeeeery rarely eat fried food.

I could definitely work on my water intake :(

Hi Josie !
Wow ! I dint know that about sugar :( Why are ll the good things actually bad for us.
I am so bad with pills. I feel like am gonna puke the moment I take them. The worst are those stinky B complex ones.

Hi Nosh !

Ditto on fried food and the rest. But coffee ? You cut out coffee ? How ? Why ? Sorry..but I am too much in love with it. Have been for several years now. But I only drink one cup a day . Anymore and I wont be able to sleep at night form all the caffeine in my system.

Milk, milk and more milk :), yogurt , bananas , carrots, lots of water, a piece of chocolate and a glass of red vino. Its about the only thing that is consistent with my diet. And I do drink lots of green tea with lemon and coffee. If I dont get my cup of java in the am I am a crank ... watch out people.

I seem to have pretty healthy and low maintenance hair, skin, eyes, teeth and nails so something must be working in that combination above. Every now and then I pop a complete Omega pill which surprise surprise does not taste or burp up fishy. And I cant give up fries with mayo as a special treat:)

Hi Sunitha !

Hehe me too. I'm a mess without my early morning cup of coffee. Running out of milk is high on my worst nightmare list. Cant live without milk n yogurt.

I too find very hard to swallow multivitamin pill and hence avoid it. I eat lots of fresh fruit and veggies. I also eat mostly homecooked fresh food. But I think that a lot also depends on your genes. If you have got good genes for your parents then you have won half the battle.

There's a lot of controversy over the effectiveness of multi-vitamins. It's always best to get your nutrients from the actual food source as opposed to a pill.

Hi manisha !

Yea, cant do much about genes but like you say eating home made food makes a big difference !

Hi Satanic Bliss !

true ! I have seen a couple of documentaries on this topic and was surprised to know the supplement industry is not well regulated. For all we know there really isn't enough % of Vitamins in that pill that is if there are any !
