I am truly truly saddened by this. I still cant believe its true. When the news first came out I was hoping it wasn't true. In fact I was a little mad at TMZ for quoting that he was dead when he was just taken into the hospital. Unfortunately it was true.

I cant even begin to describe how much his music influenced me growing up. I am sure several of you have similar things to say. I remember when I was in 5th grade or so, my study partner was crazy about MJ and I remember seeing the Thriller video for the first time in his house. I never got it then and was scared to death. But then slowly I fell into the rhythm that was MJ . Later on in 9th grade, several of my friends and I got together and made a small singsong of sorts at school which featured several songs from crazy boy bands and of course MJ. We had used their tunes and written our own lyrics. The Earth song was big then and I remember having such positive thoughts about this man and all that he was doing. The charities, the celebrity fund raisers , the millions of $ he gave. I never believed all the "claims" that were made against him later on.To me he always remained the King of Pop and a philanthropist like no other.

I think Pete Wentz said it the best "I have never felt this before in my life. I could measure my childhood on an MJ growth chart. Rip. The last legend."

R.I.P MJ

Indian Girl

Seriously Pete Wentz really did say it best. I'm still in shock... but I hope that he's at peace now.

Growing up, I started to take MJ for granted. It seemed like just like his music, he was going to be around forever. I guess part of it had to do with us thinking of him as a boy. Now that he is gone, I am in a state of shock. I pick up my headphones to listed to his songs and I give out a sigh...He is seriously gone! WHY? He really changed the notion of music for us and now hes left such a huge legacy and an even bigger black hole behind. Why was the media so brutal to him in this last couple of years? Dear Michael, Where ever you are...we will always miss you and your music has shaped the lives of millions, I hope you get a special place in heaven! R.I.P.
