A New Concealer - How To ? tutorial with a much better concealer ! Its an easy tutorial and the only thing you need in abundance is patience, if you are new to concealing. Use very little concealer to begin with, let it settle onto your skin for 3 - 4 minutes and apply more only if need be. With time this whole routine should take a minute or even lesser. Let me how you how I go from 0 to 100 in 30 seconds :)

Start with clean moisturized eyes

Step 1 : Take a small amount of concealer on your ring finger. You can use a concealer brush, but I prefer my finger.

Step 2 : Dot the concealer all over your eyes and under your eyes. Don't forget the inner corner.

Step 3 : Spread the concealer in small dabbing motions all over your eyes. Use very little pressure. We don't want it to sink in like a moisturizer.

Step 4 : Using a fluffy brush load up some translucent powder or any other oil free powder onto it. Tap the brush to remove excess powder.

Step 5 : Dab the powder all over your eyes and under the eyes. This helps keep your concealer in place.

Thats it !

Love,
Indian Girl

you don't need concealer, hardly have any darkness around your eyes, luck lucky!!!
Thanks for the heads up on the concealers and the step by step tutorial.

Hi Ranjani ! Good Morning ! Are you blog hopping with your coffee too ? I just started doing rounds of my fav blogs :) What a way to start the day !
Yea, the dark circles are not so dark below my eye but on the inner corner is super dark because of which my small eyes look smaller and over all dull :(

Should you put concealer on before or after foundation?

I've heard both scenarios, but I would like to know the most effective one. Do you know?

Thank you. :D

Hi Marasu3,

Hmmm...I 'll tell you what works for me. I first apply concealer under my and over them , then apply my foundation / tinted moisturizer all over my face and then use concealer for concealing any spots on my face. This routine has worked well for me :)

hey there great tutorial.. you make it seem so simple..
i have a question tho.. or rather need some advise since you are a fellow indian :).. i use studio fix powder foundation in nc 40.. however ive had tons of trouble finding my perfect cocnealer... so i went to mac hoping they would solve my problems and the make up artist tried on a couple of concealers on me she eventually suggested i get nc 42 in the select cover up (little tube) but they were out of stock and i asked her for an alternative and she suggested nw 30. tried it on and even assured me tht it would look fine. however, when i got home, n tried to conceal spots on my face , it didnt work... it works a bit for under the eyes, nothing fantastic tho but on the face the color is just way off .. it kinda red.. so now im left with a tube of concealer in the wrong shade and i have no idea what to do with it. any suggestions?

What kind of moisturizer do you use for your eyes? My face one says to keep away from eyes and the Kiehl's eye cream that I do have seems to make me have more purple under my eyes after I put it on.

Thanks!

Hi Nish,

My best bet would be to return it , if possible. If not, NYX makes some color correctors you could use the green one under your eyes before applying concealer. It will counteract the redness. During the summer I was around NC40 and the MAC moisture cover concealer that suited me best was NW25. I am not sure if the same applied to select cover up...

Hi BM,

I use Liff Hoffman Eye cream and alternate it with Biore Cooling Eye Gel. I will have a review up soon of the cooling eye gel...hope that helps :)

Hi IG,
Im so glad I found your blog since I have a similar complexion as yours. I was wondering if you have tried the Laura Mercier Camoflauge concealer? I've heard alot about it but don't want to spend 30 dollars if its not worth it.
