I have a cute palette to show you ! Its small, handy, perfect for purse / travel and has everything you need for a complete look ! Ain't that awesome !
The Match Books are complete face look kits form Tinte Cosmetics. It consists of two eye shadows, one cream eyeliner, one lip color , one lip gloss and 2 brushes . One is a lip brush and the other a dual ended eyeshadow / eyeliner brush.
The look you create with this palette will be a soft, romantic one. It works great for work too, as nothing is too bright or gawdy. They are neutral browns for the eyes and a pink- mauve on lips. Check out this look I put together with the palette. The cream eyeliner is super creamy and very easy to apply. I was not a big fan of the eyeliner brush provided with the kit so I used my own, but the lip brush good ! The blush is awesome. I normally don't go for pink blushes but this one has a hint of wine with pink and very little shimmer giving me a lightly blushed look.

This is a perfect pick me up for all skin tones. The three blushes have a equal mix of cool and warm tones to look good on everybody. My favorite is the bright blush. Its a bright peachy color and like Mr. James says in his video , it can make any one look years younger. The pink blush is great for a romantic look or just an everyday fresh look.
The highlighter is not what you think it is. Most highlighters are basically shimmer powders that add a glow to the spot you put it on. This one on the other hand is a light yellow based powder that helps bring out a certain the feature. So if you want the bridge of your nose to stand out, you dust the highlighter there and it will ! I am damn sure this is what Eva Longoria and J. Lo uses. Because if you notice, the center of their faces is always lighter than the outer edges. This makes them look bright and fresh ! I had a similar effect with this powder. Though it did not work great for the eye area, its awesome for the cheeks , nose, forehead and chin.
You also get an instruction manual along with the compact that has tips on almost everything from shortening your nose, to sculpting cheek bones and much much more.
You have got to see these videos below to get the best out of this palette. Even if you dont get the palette, there are a lot of tips you can pick up. I followed just what Mr. James says in the video and it made a huge difference. I have changed the way, I apply my blush. The tiny circles that he talks about for the blush, gives you a very natural look as opposed to a " center spot diffusing out towards your temple " look . I now look like I am actually blushing, not like I have applied a blusher.
For $28 this is a great buy. Its almost like getting each product in the compact for only $5.25 ! Trust me, the quality and usefulness of this product makes it totally worth your money.

Aquafina is out with a whole new line of skin care and bath products. You must have seen them at Walmart or Target. I am sucker for products with water as a base or anything similar to that so I had to try Aquafina Advanced Hydration skin care line. I got a bunch of stuff, but I am first gonna tell you about this product that I liked the most . It is the Overnight Recovery Retinyl Complex Moisturizer.
The moment I hear the words intensive and night together, I immediately think of it being a heavy, night time product. But what it was , was a complete surprise.
The texture of the cream is like thick pearly foam. It has a sheen to it but nothing shows up on your skin. Since its so light, it spreads very easily and you don't need a lot for the whole face.
I really liked this cream because the moment I put it on, I knew something looked different. I looked brighter and fresh which is nothing like most night creams. I have never had a cream that made me look so fresh ! On dry skin, it is not very heavy, so it works great for day as well.
All the Aquafina products contain QuSomes which are suppose to help the other ingredients do their job better, faster and over a long period of time. For $14 , I think I will buy this again . My skin really likes it and if you have dry skin you will see a difference in less than two days. The dry patches I had on my cheeks, were no longer there with just 2 - 3 uses. For other skin types, this remains a great night cream.

I have a love / hate relationship with cold weather. Since I hate the heat and sweat of summer, I am always happy when it gets cold. I almost long for winters when I am no longer sticky from the sweat but am naturally fresh with flushed red cheeks. But then again, my fingers freeze and go numb the moment I get out. I need at least 3 pairs of gloves to keep this from happening. You see what am talking about here ...Love it but Hate it :(
I recently came across the Pop – Apples of the cheeks in Rouge. The moment I saw it I was reminded of my love for natural red cheeks. I have tried red blushes before and have most often I ended up looking like some one just gave me one tight slap on each cheek. But then, this one is nothing like that. It is everything I have dreamed of in a red blush.
There are a lot of different things about this product compared to the tons of other blushes I have.
First thing – it’s a thin gel! It’s almost like red water.
The red liquid is very well pigmented . I can see this color looking great on practically every body because its a sheer natural red. Most red blushes look fake on me but when this gel is spread on the apples of my cheeks, I get the most beautiful just out from the cold look. Its like a stain, not very noticeable but definitely there – its that natural looking and I don't even have to run out into the cold !
Second it comes in a tube, with the easiest and a hygienic applicator.
Yeah! No more hassles with carrying a fat blush brush or digging into a tub of greasy cream blush. You can wipe off the excess with a tissue and it’s clean as new! I am always a little scared of products that come with a brush attached to it, because it looks like a good breeding ground for bacteria. With this applicator, I don’t have to worry about any such thing.
Third, it takes me less than 5 seconds to apply on each cheek!
All you have to do is make a ‘+’ sign on your cheeks and spread it with your finger! You’ll be done in ten seconds flat. You can also use in on your lips. Yay for multifunctional products !

Diwali is almost here ! Most of you must be getting ready for the Diwali parties you'll be attending or hosting yourself ! For those of you who don't know what Diwali is - it is the festival of lights in India. All over the country people light up their homes with several oil lamps or candles , burn loads of fire crackers, make some yummy feasts, eat and pray. This is a look I came up with for Diwali . The gold looks great on any skin tone especially tanned ones and pairing it with black is perfect for the Diwali night festivities ! Alternatively, you can also pair the gold with brown / burgundy / deep red / copper. Anything works !
Products Used and Description:
1. Apply primer all over the lid.
I used Pop Beauty Eye Magnet Primer
2. Apply a base layer of gold all over the lid . You can use a pencil or a cream shadow or a powder shadow.
I used Loreal HIP duo in Bustling
3. Apply a bright gold shadow over the base gold color.
I use Alima shadow in Gold Dust
4. Use black shadow on the outer V and move it into the crease. Blend upwards and outwards.
I used Milani Storm
5. Use a liquid liner along your upper lash line and a black pencil along your water line.
6. Run the black shadow over the lower lash line. Use gold over the black for a black - gold effect.
7. Apply a shimmery champagne / white gold shadow as your highlighter under the brows.
8. Use mascara / false lashes and do your brows !

If you have been noticing you'll see that I have been trying to introduce a lot of good organic and natural products to all you beautiful women while educating myself on them. This is because I truly believe nature has some of the best answers. I recently tried a small sample of their Blood Orange and Vanilla Body Milk. I initially thought it was a body cleansing milk but thank God I read the instructions before I went into the shower. It clearly mentioned that it had to be used after shower for moisturizing your body.
The consistency of the product is like a thin lotion and because of this it spreads easily all over your body. Even before I was done with my hand I could feel it disappearing into the skin on my arms. The lotion gets absorbed within minutes leaving no sticky or oily feeling. I LOVED THIS FEELING ! It was Monday night and I got out of my shower all moisturized and sat watching Brothers and Sisters online. But seriously I couldn't concentrate on my favorite show because I could not stop obsessing over how soft my skin felt. Even the hair on my skin was softer and the scent of vanilla with a hint of orange was just so hmmmmm.....

Alterna is a haircare company that uses a lot of certified organic ingredients in its products. This is what drew me to this line. The natural ingredients help strengthen and supplement you hair with nutrients while the absence of chemicals like Sulfate keeps your hair healthy for long.
If you know me, you will also know that I don't use any hair product other than shampoo, conditioner and natural oils for massage. The only reason I decided to try the spray shine from Alterna's HEMP Shine line is, because it has so many natural ingredients, is devoid of harsh chemicals, is sulfate free and vegan !
Let me tell you, that my first experience with a hair shine product was a big hit. I loved how natural and completely weightless the spray was. It did not make my hair oily or look like coating on my hair. It was super natural , gave a subtle sheen and left my hair with a yummy citrus smell ! If you are like me and are scared of using hair products because of the numerous chemicals in it - give this one a try. You and your hair will love it !
I also tried the straight conditioner and shampoo from their HEMP Organics line. Both the products have a light pleasant scent. This is the first Sulfate free shampoo I have ever tried , so it was weird not seeing much foam. Somehow a lot of foam has just become synonymous with clean hair for me, thanks to years of using regular shampoos. Unfortunately, the shampoo nor the conditioner worked for me. It left my hair very dry and tangled. Though I have very long hair, its pretty straight and almost never tangles, so this was a first for me. Guess my hair is just addicted to the bad stuff.

I remember as a kid I did a lot of things. Always loved going to classes, be it for music or painting or dance. My summers were filled with fun and lots of learning. I took classes in water and oil painting , though I cant remember much of it now I know I was not bad at it. Using this eyeliner brought back fun memories of painting , for me. I'll tell you why...
The powder eye shadows from Becca are a great way to mark your lower and upper lash line. Yes, I said mark because once you apply and seal it - it stays put the whole day through. The powder liner comes with a liquid sealer that helps keep the liner in place. You take your eyeliner brush, dip it in the sealer, take some shadow on it and draw along your lash line. For added benefit you can also run the water proof sealer over the line.
The color I tried was Barbarella. It is a universally flattering dark gray. The other color available is a deep brown - Bambi. Remember, this liner does not give you the dark black look; its subtle not garish. The powder in the compact is packed pretty tight, so you will get just the required amount when you swipe your brush over it. There are zero fall outs. It can also be used dry without the sealent for a very light look. Above all the packaging is so pretty. The eyeliner and the eye shadows form Becca look like cute buttons ! I adore them !

Oh how I wish I had discovered this during the summer !
The Olivella Face Mask is literally a face mask ! You open the pack and out comes this thick wet sheet with holes cut out for the eyes and your mouth. You put this sheet on your face and it clings like a wet cloth would. You take it off after twenty minutes .
If it was summer, I am sure the sheet would have almost dried but since its getting pretty cold out here, it didn't. The feeling you get the moment you put the mask on is just like that of splashing your face with cold water after a long day out in the sun. The masque is made with ingredients to provide hydration, antioxidants and feeds your skin with nutrients ! I felt throughly hydrated and refreshed at the end of it. Make sure you stock up a few in your refrigerator the next summer.

I entered the world of loose mineral shadows, with Alima Pure,. There are so many brands out there, that make loose mineral shadow that it gets quite overwhelming for a starter like me. I decided on Alima because it is 100 % certified natural product and works great with sensitive skin.
I tried a few samples of their shadows from their Luminous , Pearlustre, Satin Matte formula and a couple of eyeliners from their Luminous Shimmer Eyeliner line. The shadows are super soft and come in generous sample sizes. The sample Alima provides, is easily enough for three or four uses. Most colors are very well pigmented and transfer onto your skin looking just the same as they do in the jars. My two favorite colors were Chai - Alima's answer to Stila's Kitten and Gold Dust - a bright yellow gold that brightens any face instantly. The eyeliner in Black Violet is such a keeper !
Though I have no problems with any of Alima's samples I don't think I will be going the loose mineral shadows route. They can get terribly messy both in your storage drawer and on your face. Always always do you eyes first and then do your face or you'll end up having fall outs all over your cheeks. Using a primer is very important as it helps the loose powder adhere better onto your lids. Some people do press these onto palettes but I guess I'll just buy pressed shadows. I will be missing out on some wonderful color choices that they offer, unfortunately that's the price I'll pay. But if you don't mind having so many tiny jars of shadows or pressing them , you will enjoy the loose mineral shadows.
Here are two looks I came up with using Alima's shadows. I was very pleased with how it turned out and the staying power of the shadows. Some shadows have a better staying power than the others but most are pretty good.

Ive been a Lazy Goose all day today. Thanks to my trip to Sephora last night, all I can think of are the awesome Lip Pencils from NARS. One thing to remember of course is that you must have lips like velvet if you must use them. Though creamy, they will exxagerate your lip lines even if you have slightly cracked lips...
That being said, I found an awesome nude lip look from my drugstore ! I have had this lip liner in Most Natural by Milani for a while now but had hardly used it. Dreaming of the lip crayons I whipped out this look. This pencil from Milani is great for creating a nude lip look on pigmented lips. Just fill your lips with it and apply a coat of clear lip gloss over it for luscious nude lip look ! I used my Camilla Lip Balm over the liner.

This is a great line for people with sensitive skin because it is made from ingredients that will not irritate your skin. It is free from paraben, sulfates, mineral oils and silicone. The packaging is contemporary and is made from the type of plastic that can be easily recycled - doesn't that make you feel good !
Moisture Balance is a great everyday moisturizer for oily skin. It is a clear gel that forms a protective layer on your skin almost like a primer ; except this makes you feel hydrated and nourished. The seaweed in this product helps control oil making you look fresh all day long.
I love this gel. It smells so good that I look forward to mornings when I can use it. My makeup glides like a charm over it while I look fresh. What can I say, nothing has romanced my oily nose better ;)
Clarifying Water is a great addition to my skin care regime. On days when I don't want anything heavy on my skin, I just spray a few drops of this all over my face and neck and I'm done. It is just like water except its not runny and gets instantly absorbed by your skin. I don't know if its the Siberian Ginsing or the Willow bark that makes it smell so heavenly. I carry the Clarifying water everywhere with me. Anytime I feel tired or dehydrated, I just spray a little on my face and I feel instantly good. This is my skin's favorite drink !
Finally I come to my most favorite product from this line - The Replenishing Night Oil ! The Tahitian Vanilla smells so good it makes me cry. It is meant to be used every night as a part of your nightly skin nourishment but I use it when I need it the most. On nights when I feel particularly tired or when I know I'm gonna have a big day I use this at night without fail. I wake the next morning feeling and looking like a million bucks ! I am not kidding, nothing I have used before comes close to what this does to my skin. I look brighter, refreshed almost like I just got back from a relaxed holiday. Its silly, I know but I just feel so good inside ! Guess it really works with my body's chemicals :)
If there is one skin care product I would highly recommend using from this line, it would be the replenishing Night Oil. Buy it for yourself, for your mom, for you girlfriends and they will all love you for introducing them to this and hate you for the costly addiction :)
